TOP GRAIN LEATHER (4/8)
Top grain leather comes second in the pecking order of leather grades. Corrections made to full grain leather, by removing the top-most layer and fixing marks and blemishes, results in top grain. To create a top grain, the full grain hide is sanded down to an even texture and then embossed with the leather imprint to give the appearance of skin.
It makes the material softer and more pliable, making it easier to work with, however, the uniformity of texture isn’t natural, compromising on the original markings.
At dmodot, we are driven by our love for the natural material leather, and we exclusively use full grain leather for our products.
